Spain Trip 2008
Part 3 (July 13th)
DAY VISIT TO GRANADA !!!
Well, we could not resist, and today in the morning we jumpt in out great car (Mercedes small SUV, Diesel and Automatic, given as a free upgrade, except $250 more for the auto transmission) and went ca. 78 miles away to GRANADA, a famous cross cultures center, for centuries under MoorÕs rule.
The very first site we went was THE ALHAMBRA PALACE., a most sophisticated center in the Middle Ages Spain, a backward country in the 9th century. The Islamic centers of Spain brought back to the barbarous Europeans of the times the KNOWLEDGE of the Greeks (Mathematics, Music, Theater, Astronomy, Geometry, etc.). The Western Civilization was re-introduced this knowledge through the Moors and through the Byzantium scholars, thus triggering the explosion of knowledge of the Renaissance Italy.

We also met MAXÕs cousin there, looking a lot like him !!!!

The photo on the left is the 16th Century Cathedral of Granada.

The two of us, enjoying the scenery !

Last moments in Granada.
