VISIT TO SEVILLE

We were fortunate to find Hotel Amadeus, in the old center (Barrio Santa Cruz). It is an old mansion owned by a musicians family. It is furnished in the Mozartean style, with music instruments, and a good Yamaha Piano !

Located on a 6feet wide street, it cannot be accessed by car or taxi. However, it is located very close to the Santa Cruz Plaza.

The rooms are in Viennese style and very comfortable.

The first tour was going into the fabulous ALCAZAR, the Islamic administrative and cultural center . It was preserved and maintained beautifully, as you can see from the pictures below.

Directly across the street is the colossal gothic Cathedral (the third largest in the world), with its bell tower which originally was part of the Islamic minaret.

We could not miss a real hot Flamenco show, which was held at the Palace Andaluz.

Food in Seville is anywhere from fine to fantastic. For the evening, we preferred eating ÒtappasÓ (aperitive dishes) at the famous Caffe-Bar LAS TERESAS, in the heart of Barrio Santa Cruz.

Barrio Santa Cruz has lots of small souvenir shops, very colorful and with specific local products.

All together, Seville remains truly the capital of Andalusia, with a very sophisticated night life, with excellent (but expensive) restaurants, nigh clubs, flameco centers (many of them), as well as great shops.

I am sure we will return there in the future !!!
